Lead for Behavioural Science at FAO
Cortney Price is a humanitarian and development professional committed to enabling change through human-centred approaches. As Lead for Behavioural Science at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Cortney coordinates FAO’s efforts to explore how behavioural science can improve programme impact and unlocking efficient ways of working. As Lead for the Venture Team of FAO's Office of Innovation, Cortney helps FAO and partners experiment with new perspectives and approaches to enable, incubate, design and launch innovations as well as promote out-of-the-box thinking and growth mindsets. Previously, Cortney partnered with animal health and food safety divisions to create the Antimicrobial Resistance Behaviour Change Community of Practice – a multi-stakeholder platform for behavioural co-design across Africa. Cortney has also delivered participatory approaches to social behaviour change and risk communication across in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, as well as supported the creation and adoption of new tools for knowledge sharing and collaboration on climate change. Cortney holds an MSc in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Liberal Arts from Yale University. Prior to joining FAO in 2005, Cortney worked as a broadcast advertising producer in Italy and the United States.
