
Julie Vallat
VP Human Rights - L'Oréal
Before joining L'Oréal, Jullie Vallat worked since 2000 as a legal advisor for charities such as “Médecins du Monde”. She then worked as a legal advisor for the Ministry of Justice, in the department responsible for implementing international treaties, including the Hague Convention against Child Abduction, and European Conventions dealing with legal aid. Since 2006, she has been a member of the Paris Bar, with the law firm Veil Jourde et associés, specializing in human rights and international law, with a particular focus on Burma. For 10 years, from 2009 to 2019, Julie Vallat was in charge of the human rights department at Total, within the executive legal department / corporate social responsibility division. An expert in international law, she was in charge of a team of lawyers and guided a global network of local representatives to address human rights and socio-environmental risks in complex environments, designing innovative solutions to strengthen compliance with UN standards. In June 2019, she joins l'Oréal as vice president of the human rights department. In partnership with internal and external experts, she maps key and emerging human rights issues to build appropriate support plans.
